Teruo FUJII

The University of Tokyo and Kubota Corporation have launched a long-term organization-to-organization corporate partnership project through the university-corporate collaboration agreement in November 2021. Under the slogan “What we can do for the Earth 100 years from now”, we will bring together the knowledge of Kubota Corporation and the academic expertise of the University of Tokyo to create new value toward the achieving of a sustainable society for the future. Through this corporate partnership project, we will build a strong network of excellence and inclusiveness, and promote collaborations in a wide range of areas, including joint research, personnel exchange, and human resource development.

The University of Tokyo has declared that we will challenge to resolving global issues following our basic vision, the UTokyo Compass. The University of Tokyo and Kubota Corporation, aiming to be a “life-supporting platformer” that is committed to the prosperous society and nature cycles, share a great deal of the same vision and hope to work together to resolve problems in order to achieve a better future society.

This collaborative project utilizes our knowledge, technology, and networks in the field of “food, water and the environment” to pursue “Bio-Loop” creation that achieves both the natural symbiosis (bio) and circular society (loop) on a “glocal” scale meaning from the local to the global. We have great expectations that it will be an important initiative toward the realization of a natural symbiosis and a circular society, addressing each region to the whole earth.
